IMPORTANT NEWS 

In September 2009 the Bosom Pals Charity (Registered Charity No. 1043405) was granted dissolution and its funds were transferred to Southend Hospital Charity (Registered Charity No. 1057266) for the benefit of the Breast Care Unit at Southend University Hospital.

 

The Bosom Pals Patient support group is committed to raising money for the Breast  Care Unit and was delighted to join forces with Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1073031) to launch the Bosom Pals Appeal in May 2009.

 


Bosom Pals Committee handing over a cheque for £175,000 to Mr Neil Rothnie, Director of Breast Screening, Colin George, Chairman of Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation and Rachel Riley from Chanel 4's Countdown.

 

                  

 

The Bosom Pals Appeal aims to raise £750,000 over the next two years to purchase two state-of-the-art digital mammography machines and associate IT equipment.  It will also help to fund improvements to the Breast Care Unit, including the refurbishment of the breast care counselling rooms and waiting area and additional diagnostic equipment.

****Southend Hospital Annual Sponsored Walk Sunday 11 October 2009

Southend Hospital Annual Sponsored Walk is back with a new date and a new route! Join us for this 7K walk from Uncle Tom’s Cabin to Chalkwell shelter and help raise funds for the Bosom Pals Appeal. The £5 entrance fee includes a medal, bottle of water and return transport. 

 

****Quiz Night at the Freight House Friday 30 October, 7.30pm

Teams of up to eight people are welcome for this fun evening.  Tickets cost £6 per person and include nibbles, raffle and bar.

 

****Christmas Craft & Gift Fair, The Mill Rayleigh, Sunday 22 November , 10.30 – 4.00pm

Buy hand-made crafts and gifts for family and friends at our Christmas Craft and Gift Fair on Sunday 22 November at the Mill, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh. Nearly 50 stallholders selling unique jewellery, handbags and shoes, handmade wooden toys and cards, clocks, autographed photos,

candles and many other gifts . Refreshments are available and there will also be a tombolla, cake raffle and Santa’s grotto for the children.  Entry is £1.50 for adults and free for children.
