HeadStrong Sevice- coming to Southend Breast Unit, Spring 2007

For many people, losing their hair as a result of treatment for breast cancer can be the most distressing side effect.  Women who have lost their hair through chemotherapy still need to feel good and confident about themselves.

Breast Cancer Care's hair loss service - HeadStrong - offers practical information and support to women experiencing hair loss through treatment for breast cancer.  The service empowers women to learn a new skill, provides a choice of different headwear products, and offers practical advice for scalp and hair care before, during and after chemotherapy treatment.

The service will be provided by volunteers selected and trained by Breast Cancer Care.

Breast Cancer Care is very pleased to announce HeadStrong is coming to Southend Hospital in Spring 2007.  We're looking for volunteers to run the service, which will be available initially one afternoon a week.
